What a World video: Amy Self conducting the Adams 12 5th grade Honor Choir in singing her original composition.
History
In May 2015, my 4th grade son came home from school crying because he had just learned about deforestation. He was worried that we would all die soon because trees were being chopped down. We explained to him that yes, trees produce the oxygen that we breathe, but no, we won't all die next week. So we talked about the nuanced concept of why we need trees, how they are important the ecosystem, and why we should protect them. Very quickly, his tears of fear of deforestation turned into tears of sadness, and then anger.
I remember thinking to myself, "Wouldn't it be nice to live in a world where we don't have to have these worries?" This became the concept of an original song, "What a World."
